Natural Wood-Log Cultivation
The Mayuzumi family pioneered the natural wood-log method in the 1970s, making it possible to consistently grow and harvest high-quality red reishi. From culturing the Mayuzumi red reishi strain to harvesting and drying, the entire process takes a full year. Although labour-intensive, this traditional method yields red reishi of unmatched potency and integrity—and is still used in every Mikei® red reishi product today.
